Offenhauser 5880 Carburetor Adapter

Description

Offenhauser part number 5880 is a pair of carburetor offset adapter plates designed mainly for dual quad (dual 4-barrel carburetor) setups. These plates are each half an inch thick and provide a half-inch offset. When installed, one plate moves the front carb forward by half an inch and the other moves the rear carb backward by half an inch. This gives a total of one inch additional spacing front-to-back between the carburetors.

Their main use is to help provide clearance between carburetors, especially when tight fitment issues arise with carburetor bowls or linkage (such as interference with the distributor or thermostat housing) when installing dual quad Holley or similar carburetors. These plates have a Holley 4150 bolt pattern but can also be used if the manifold is drilled for both Holley and Carter AFB patterns.

In some tighter fitment scenarios, more than one set can be stacked. They are sold as a pair, so one purchase of 5880 includes two plates—one for each carb position. You can also buy a single plate (a “half set”) if you only need to move one carburetor.
