Description

Ford V-6 (2.6 Liter & 2.8 Liter) Mustang II, Capri, Pinto, Bronco II, & Ranger

After the successful introduction of the 2800CC V-6 manifold for the Mustang / Capri / Pinto / Bobcat, Offenhauser has followed up with a 2600CC version for the earlier engines. Both are available in 2 or 4 barrel designs. The 2 barrel manifold uses a stock 2 stage 2 barrel carb and delivers a definite performance increase through all RPM ranges plus a reduction in fuel consumption. The quad manifold (competition design) will actually allow the engine to perform with proper balance throughout all stages of RPM resulting from the high rate of velocity in the primary circuit and perfect balance that automatically results when the secondary or acceleration portion takes over.

Later vehicles such as Bronco II and Ranger must use 1983 or earlier stock distributor with vacuum advance or aftermarket equivalent. Manifolds also use 3 bolt water neck (Ford part # D2RY8592A)

Manifold includes middle gasket, bolts to connect upper half to lower half, bolts to mount manifold to block surface. 

Bolt sizes for 6097 DP:
Upper to Lower Manifold Bolt Size: 1/4″-20 thread x 1 3/4″ with flat washers
Part # 6278 Water Outlet Bolt Size: 5/16″x18 thread

Either studs or bolts can be used for this application.

NOTE: Ford continued to use the 2.6L heads on non-US 2.8L engines. Port size and configurations on the heads are different between the 2.6L and the US version of the 2.8L. To use this manifold on non-US engines, you must use US 2.8L heads, camshaft, and exhaust manifolds. Offenhauser part number 6116-DP will work on non-US 2.8L engines that are using the 2.6L style heads.
