Description
The Offenhauser 0309-1 adapter is designed to mate an early Buick Nailhead V8 engine (such as the 264 or 322, including those from 1954 model year) to an early Ford 3-speed manual transmission. This adapter does not work with automatic transmissions, including the Buick Dynaflow, or any modern transmissions.
To use this adapter, you must have the corresponding manual transmission and related original manual transmission components (pedal assembly, linkage, bell housing, flywheel, etc.). The 0309-1 and 0309-2 differ based on the pilot bore size in the back of your Buick crankshaft, so it’s important to measure your crankshaft to ensure proper fitment. The 0309-1 is for use with crankshafts that have a 2″ pilot bore size.
