Buick V6 & Jeep 1962-76. Late 78′, 1979 and later (8 5/8″ center to center of bolts, top & bottom.
5881 is designed for Buick V6 engines, including the Buick 225 and early 231 (V6) engines. It also fits Jeep V6 engines from 1962 to 1976, commonly known as the “Dauntless” V6. When it comes to the 231 V6, it’s important to note that engines produced from 1977 through 1978 used a different lower bolt pattern, so the 5881 will not fit those unless the bolt pattern on the heads matches the earlier spec. For 231 V6 engines from 1976 and earlier, the 5881 will fit. The best way to confirm compatibility is to check the center-to-center spacing of the bolt holes on your cylinder heads.
